LG Cookie KP500 disassembly

Tools required: Phillips size 0 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim, memory card and stylus. Four screws need to be removed (circled).

Run something like a credit card around the join of the back cover to release it from the rest of the phone.

With the back cover removed your phone should look like below. Five ribbon connectors (circled) need to be disconnected. Each one attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever them up to unplug.

With the ribbons disconnected you should be able to pull the circuit board away, as shown below. Another connector needs to be detached in the same way as the others.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the two circled screws which hold the antenna in place. The camera, indicated by the arrow, is stuck down with double sided tape and will come away with a little force. The antenna will also come away with a little force.

Your phone should now look like below.

Run your plastic tool around the join of the front cover and lever it off.

Your phone should now look like below. Lever the LCD screen out with your plastic tool. It should come away easily.

  • You should now have the small LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
